Create datasets to upload and publish data. Further organize your data using folders and assign metadata at both the file and dataset level.
Explore the DOME 4.0 project—an industrial data ecosystem fostering collaboration and innovation. Watch our video for an overview of how DOME 4.0 enhances knowledge creation and addresses data interoperability challenges. Join us in revolutionizing the industrial data landscape!
In the heart of Leuven, Belgium, the stage was set to a groundbreaking event organized by the DOME 4.0 project and brought together visionaries, innovators, and industry leaders at the SIEMENS premises, from October 10th to 12th, 2023. The Industrial Engagement Open Day and Hackathon was an exciting platform for showcasing the latest advancements in technology and innovation.
The event shed the basis to begin a new era in manufacturing. With fascinating presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and inspiring demonstrations, the event left a lasting impact. In a fast-evolving tech landscape, events like the DOME 4.0 Open Day and Hackathon play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and collaboration.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the participants, contributors, and attendees who made the Industrial Engagement Open Day and Hackathon a resounding success, and special gratitude to Siemens for opening their doors to host this three-day event.
Fluid complex mixtures (involving solvents, salts, surfactants, etc.), that, for example, are commonly used to produce personal care, food, and cleaning products. Broadly speaking, this use case involves data on material properties (chemical and physical properties from either simulations or experiments), information about purchasing raw materials, and relevant existing patents.
All this information comes from various web-based sources, which display heterogeneity at multiple levels. In fact, in general, different sources might use different data formats, different terms for the same entities and even different perspectives to describe the same domain (corresponding to syntactic, terminological, and conceptual heterogeneity, respectively, following Euzenat & Shvaiko). DOME 4.0 will provide an entry point that enables a simultaneous query across the various data sources and will combine, and where possible harmonize, their answers.
Showcase 5 addresses MARKET4.0 marketplace for the procurement of manufacturing equipment and services. The procurement process requires access to different kinds of data such CAD files that are mostly considered confidential. MARKET4.0 combines both public and confidential data exchange. Public data exchange is covered by the MARKET4.0 marketplace UI, where the first insights on the items available on the platform are gained by potential customers. As soon as private data exchanges are required to further investigate if an item meets the customer’s needs, the platform facilitates such data exchanges through an IDS dataspace which enables sovereign peer to peer data exchanges.
Showcase 5 contributes to DOME 4.0's objectives by delivering data sets related to manufacturing equipment procurement. The showcase connects both public data using a typical HTTP API and private data using the IDS infrastructure. In addition, MARKET4.0 platform also acts as client for DOME4.0 data sets by enabling MARKET4.0 users to access DOME4.0 datasets through the MARKET4.0 platform.
The 3rd DOME 4.0 Hackathon, held at UCL Eas between 11 and 12 September 2024! Over two days, participants from various industries and disciplines came together to explore cutting-edge innovations in data interoperability, semantics, and ontologies.
During the event, took place keynote presentations from experts like Iker Ensaola (BASF), Christoph Mertens (IDSA), and Kate Lin (Google), as well as hands-on hack sessions where participants interacted with the DOME 4.0 platform to onboard and share semantic datasets.
Lhumos, offers a revolutionary platform for the delivery of training materials and the
showcasing of projects like DOME 4.0.
Its user-friendly interface, powered by REACT for the frontend and the Clowder framework
for backend operations, ensures easy access to complex educational content.
A notable feature of Lhumos is its use of automatic metadata extractors, which facilitate
enhanced accessibility, including lightweight PDF previews and dynamic navigation within
video presentations through OCR technology. This innovative approach significantly
improves user engagement and makes educational content more digestible.
Currently in its alpha phase and accessible at alpha.lhumos.org, Lhumos invites users to
explore its functionalities and provide feedback to help enhance the platform further. This
showcase not only highlights the capabilities of Lhumos in providing an advanced showcase
of learning materials and tutorials, but also demonstrates the collaborative potential of
technology in elevating learning experiences and project presentations on a global scale
